Pain on my left side...
I get that same pain when I eat too much. It feels like a "side stitch" kind of cramp.

Dr. Robert Cywes - VERY VERY happy I went with Dr.Cywes!!
I have decided to have my surgery with dr. Cywes also. I don't have a surgery date yet, but I am currently getting all the pre-op stuff done. Like, chest x-ray, blood work, psych, etc. I go for my second appt with Dr. C January 5. I hope to have a surgery date soon after that. It is great hearing such positive things about the doctor I have chosen. Good Luck to everyone. I am so happy that everyone is doing so well.

Sleep Study Tomorrow -- A little nervous
Awesome! Thank you so much for the replies. I'm going to ask about a split study. It would be extremely convenient not to have to go back a second night. It might sound crazy, but I an hoping that it comes back that I do have sleep apnea. It would make it that much easier to get approved by my insurance . Plus, I know (pcp told me) that once I lose the weight, the sleep apnea will probably be gone. Wish me luck!

Sleep Study Tomorrow -- A little nervous
I am going for my sleep study tomorrow night, and I'm a little nervous. I've gone through an EKG, blood work, and a chest x-ray, but this is the only one that is freaking me out a little. I don't know if it is the prospect of sleeping away from home, or the fact that there are going to be strangers all around the building while I (try) to sleep. Anyone have any words of wisdom or encouragement to help me survive tomorrow night? What should I bring with me? Thank you so much

Pre op tests
I am going tomorrow for my chest X-Ray and bloodwork. My orders say they are testing a lot if things in my blood labs---CBC, thyroid, glucose, insulin, a nutritional workup (what ever that is!), and more that I can't remember. Mine is definitely fasting though. I should lose a pound just from the blood they are going to take hehehe. I did my EKG today.

Federal employee insurance
Thank you so much! I'm at a point where if I do not get approved I will do self pay (this surgery is so important to me), but it would be amazing to be approved!

Federal employee insurance
Kristenhope, Do you mind me asking what your BMI was when you filed for approval with BCBS federal? I have a BMI of 39.6, the surgeon's office rounded it up to 40. I will be submitting for approval in a few weeks and am nervous about approval. The office staff doesn't think it will be a problem, but was wondering about your experience. Thanks

Federal employee insurance
I have BCBS Federal as well. I am just beginning my journey---Seminar November 17 and first appointment with the surgeon tomorrow YAY! The coordinator at my surgery center said that BCBS federal is one of the easiest insurance companies to go through. I hope this holds true. I am right on the borderline with a BMI of 40, and no documented co-morbidities other than joint/muscle pain and depression (not sure if this even counts). Good Luck with your decision
