  1. That is amazing! 45 pounds! Wow! Are you getting the same questions I am like: "If you have lost this much don't you think you can go the rest of the way without surgery?" UGHHHHH
  2. I am finally on day 7 and the "hungries" have started to disappear. I had a shake at 7:00 am and got busy at work and didn't have another till 2:00! I had to back off my beloved diet coke because I had pretty severe heartburn yesterday. I am having my pre-op appointment in the morning! It is getting more and more real everyday.
  3. Hi Teri, I am being banded the 29th. Nervous is a mild way to put it. I am excited though, too. Where are you located? I am in the Kansas City area. We have two weeks of pre-op. I have two Protein shakes a day, and a low cal/low fat Healthy Choice dinner. I gotta tell you the dinner couldn't have come quicker the first two days-if my husband hadn't been sitting there I might have licked the plate ) I am on day 6, 11 pounds down, and everyone was right. I am not really "hungry". I had a shake at 7:00 am and a diet coke mid morning. I didn't even think about the lunch shake till 12:30. Dinner will be at 6:00, then some yogurt before bed (to take with the pills I hope to stop taking by next year!) My mantr, when I am seeing or thinking about the other foods, is "it's not worth it" Not worth the 6 days I have already worked at this. Not worth feeling crappy about myself for not staying with it. Not worth going in to the doctor for my pre-op appointment with a low weight loss. Not worth the pain of looking at myself in the mirror AGAIN with tears because I couln't love myself enough to just freaking stay on the program.
  4. Great ideas on the Tylenol. Maybe you could get one of those things they give you for babies so you can bypass the toungue and shoot it straight to the back of your throat to get it down? I am getting banded 12/29/2010 and CAN.NOT.WAIT. :Dancing_biggrin:
  5. I am new to the board and I am just starting to find my way around it. I am getting banded the 29th of December at Malley Surgical Center. I am so excited!!! I have a lot to lose, 150 lbs. Saying that outloud scares me, but I am done with this body the way it is. I have had it with feeling terrible, self concious, unhealthy. I am ready to spend my next 50 years feeling a WHOLE lot better!
  6. Looks like there are several of us getting banded on the 29th! I go for pre-op on the 22nd. I am starting the pre-op diet on Dec, 14th, the day after my 50th birthday! 50 is the year of the great epiphany: I want to live the rest of my life happy and healthy with my husband and be around to see my grandbabies. My Mom called one day and said she was liquidating some stock she was saving for my inheritence. She hit the nail on the head when she said "It's not your inheritence if you die before I do" She was right, {sigh} she has never really had a weight issue, but she is trying to understand and love me enough to offer me the money (our insurances have special binders to not include ANY type of weight loss surgery). I am taking her up on the offer. Unlike some of my new buddies here I have told lots of folks. I am scared to death of them saying "Well, we knew she couldn't do it", but I am also jazzed to prove them wrong! I am so glad I found you guys!
  7. I am going to be banded December 29th-I am excited and nervous too! I had back surgery that had some complications. I have always been heavy, but after teh surgery I put on at least 100 pounds. I weighed 333 at the initial consultation. That has been so hard to write, say, think. It is definately my highest weight ever. March will be here in no time, and finding this kind of support this early will be so great for you. Blessings! Keep us posted!
  8. Hi Kevin, How did your surgery go? I am having my surgery Wednesday December 29th. I am self pay-so no BCBS either! There is a group from Kansas City-I am looking for it too. Best of luck! Michelle
