  1. I used to worry about if I would or wouldn't tell people. Than I realized, I have nothing to answer for to anyone and maybe j,ust maybe my journey will help someone else. A friend of mines journey is what made me make the decision and I thank him for that. I have a friend getting the vertical sleeve and she doesn't want to tell people either. I sbelieve that is her business. But to me that means deep down she is ashamed. We should not feel like we are cheating or ashamed. We have to do everything we would have to do on WW's or an at home diet. We still have to work out. Actually if anything we actually have more restrictions in some ways. Be proud and choose to tell or not to. But make sure you feel proud of your decision. I believe it will make us much more successful. Good luck!!! I am hoping to be banded in January.
  2. Welcome! My name is Stephanie and I just finished all my tests as well. Just waiting on approval from insurance. I love this site. You see the good and the bad . also you can ask any question and someone will be able to answer it. Good luck and I look forward to seeing your progress as things come together.

  5. Hi Kana, So I have a surgeon here, but my insurance is probably going to require a Center of excellence. Who are you going to use? I am looking at using someone over in the Sac area. Thanks and good luck Stephanie
  6. Hi everyone, My name is Stephanie and I live in Mendocino Co in California. I am 40 years old, a mother of 3 and married for 20 years. So my story is like so many others. I can lose the weight but can't keep it off. I have been against most weight loss surgeries for my own personal reasons . My doc has been trying to have me get band for 3 years but my insurance wouldn't approve. Well I have new insurance and they will approve(hopefully) with my knee, foot and hip pain, borderline blood pressure issues and just flat feeling yucky. I have decided to have lapband surgery. I have had all my tests done, got all my medical records and now I am just waiting for my nutrionist appt and to lose 19 more lbs and than we will submit to the insurance. I have done tons and tons of research, have several friends who have had great success and even some who have had no success. I am exicted and nervous but ready for the new adventure in my life. Glad to be here with all of you. Thanks Stephanie
