  1. My port is on the side of my stomach! Not in the front like normal. Right the longest cut is the port? I think it is it bc it is black, blue and yellow. I just got banded on the 26th. I don't know about feeling my port but I will be gland when I can feel those bones in my chest/neck area again:)
  2. I was banded on the 26th. I have been good but I was in the recovery room with a guy who had both things done. The doc. told him the pain he would have would not be from the band but from the hernia. His side was hurting and he told him it might take a bit longer because of the hernia but that it would get better. Congrats and I hope you are better in day 5!
  3. My doc. said that if I get the stomach flu to call him and come into the office to remove the fluid from the band. He said not to have it tight and throw up. Then he said when you are better, we will put it back. That was one of my first questions because I work at an elem. school!
  4. Jason, Congrats on making up your mind at such a young age! I am just excited that we have this option to lose weight and not have to do the gast. bypass. I am 27 and I felt young to be doing it but I got banded on the 26th and I am so greatful for it. Good Luck with your surgury and girlfriend! Keep us posted!
  5. I have not had any problems from this at all. The first day I got home at 2:00 I was out sleeping bc of the meds. The second I was on the tredmill 2 times to not get gas and kina sore that day. Getting up was hard. The third I was emotional but no pain. The 4th I was good. Went shopping, drove an hour to see my parents, and did the tredmill. No pain at all. Today the 5th day I am going to go help my parents clean their house because they are moving. I will not lift anything but I can clean. I do have a secret that is kina to much info! When I had my gallbladder out I did not want gas pains and same with this. What I did was as soon as I get home from the hospital I take a Dulcolax laxative supository (wrong spelling). and it cleans me out. During the cleaning out time, I release all the gas. It has worked 2 times for me. One reason I also do this is because I get stopped up from pain meds and I think that it would make the gas worse. Hope this helps.
  6. Do you think I am pass the gas phase if I am on day 4? I have been walking on the tredmill and all is good so far? However, I would love to be able to just do a small burp!
  7. I am so sorry to hear that. He must have his own personal issues that he is going through. Give him time and he might come back around. I wish you the best and you know you have support here. Good Luck
  8. 1. Spend more time with my son! 2. Work on being healthy in all ways 3. Save money and keep a budget
  9. I can't wait to be able to take my son to Splashtown or to the public pool and not be in a full winter outfit in the summer! Also, I have already cut up the Lane Bryant! Mall here I come.
  10. Did anyone else become emotional on their 3-4 day? I am not like that at all. I am excited about the band but omg I was crying at everything. I am better now, but that was scary for me. I hope I don't have anymore issues like that again.
  11. I am glad to hear you are doing better! I was concerned when I had my band done because it was not in a hospital. That was rather strange for me but the people were awesoem and the facility was great. Hope you continue to have a speedy recovery!
  12. I got my band and besides a small gum chewing incident I am doing great! I have already lost 10 lbs. I am doing the shakes, broth and water. Is that to much?
  13. THanks, I learned my lesson! However, I keep a nasty taste in my mouth from surguery because I am having really bad nose bleeds.
  14. I was chewing gum after my vitamin and I might of swallowed it! It has been 45 min and I am not feeling any pain. I am so looped on pain meds, I don't know what happened to the gum! What should I do?
  15. I live in Spring but I would love to meet with fellow banders! I get my band on the 26th but after Jan. I would love to have support!
  16. I am self pay. I called to make an appt. for Jan and they scheduled me for the next week to get the band done. I have my band done on the 26th. I had already cleared it through my family doc, and attended a seminar. I am sipping protein drinks as I type. However, my doc. told me the more you weigh the longer your pre-op will be. I weigh 230 and I have been pre-op for a week. Hope this helps.
  17. I know this is crazy but I painted my workout room so that it would be inviting after I get my band. It was white and blah! Now it is green with plants! I love it.

  20. Wow that is awesome! Keep up the great work. You will meet your goal of 140, no doubt!
  21. I am getting banded on the 26th. I will be having questions! I am kina doing this alone and I am a single parent. My mom is going to keep my son for a couple days for me until I get back on my feet. I don't know if I am going to tell others yet. I am actually doing this for my son. I want to be more active and fun with him.
  22. Hey, I live in Spring and I am getting banded by Dr. Collier on the 26th. I am 5'6 and about 235. Keep me updated on your progress! I am a self pay but I know that this will be worth it!
  23. I must be crazy because I am loving the pre-op shakes. They are really good. However, I am having a strange craving for olives. Good thing the doct. made me take that preg. test or I would be kina stressed!
  24. I'm an elementary asst. principal! Loving the break right now
  25. Any info. on Dr. Collier and the Phys. Surg. Center in Houston?
