    Anyone for September 2020?

Yep September 5 for me. I had a band in years ago that caused me nothing but trouble so that was removed in an emergency op about 5 years ago and now I'm going with the sleeve.

    Rude relatives

Yep, I understand. I had a band in for about 5 years and lost all up 17 kgs. I did not tell my family as I was embarrassed (rightly or wrongly). But just before Christmas last year it slipped and had to be removed urgently and I needed my mum to look after my children. After I told my mum, who has been 'dieting' every day of my life, turned around and said, "Well it obviously didn't work did it?" I am now considering the sleeve as I have regained about 10 kgs (although the Dr did say some of that would be fluids as I had not even kept Water down for ages). I will not be telling her! I already feel like a failure, I don't need her help.

    Lost the Plot

Hi, I am 9 days post op and have cheated already:frown:. I ate some solid food. I justified it at the time by chewing really well. I also thought that so long as you didn't throw up it would be alright. I have since done some further reading and found that not to be true. I feel like a total failure and am convinced that I've ruined everything. I am scared that I've done damage, although I feel no different. Since about day 5 I have thought of nothing but when I can eat next. I am worse than what I was before surgery. Have I ruined my last chance? Has anyone else felt like this? I feel like giving up.
  6. Hi, I was also banded on the 28th but I'm in Australia. If you're interested in long distance support, let me know. Vina
  7. Hi, I just got banded on Thursday 28th Oct 2010. I'm from SW, WA (about 4.5 hours from Perth. I saw Dr. Padovan. I have had next to no pain, just rather large bruises. I'm keeping down my fluids OK and am off all painkillers. The hardest thing is watching my children eat. I'm not hungry but boy would it feel good to chew right now!!:wink2: I have basically kept my surgery secret from everyone except my hubby and one friend so I could do with soem support too. My local GP's are great, very encouraging. In terms of swimming I'm not sure if I can help there but I was told to not have a bath or shower for more than 10 mins for the first few weeks. Hope this helps, Vina
