Phentermine & Lapband
Does anyone know if it is safe for people with the LapBand to use Phentermine? I know certain meds are not allowed and wasn't sure if this is one of them. I'm considering adding it to my daily diet because I have been at a plateau and watching friends and family lose with the Phentermine pill. I have used it before I was banded so I am well aware of the side affects, I just need to know if it is on the not allowed list, will it irritate my stomach pouch?

question??
My first few weeks after surgery I sipped my drinks. I wasn't sure how much my stomach could hold or tolerate. You should probably start out sipping until ou learn how well your stomach will tolerate food and drinks.

TrueProtein.com?
I have never tried them, but let me know how they taste if you do order them.

Post surgery memory loss???
I am the same way. Can't remember anything anymore. I have to ask my 5 year old to remind me of things because I just can't remember anymore and like you my grand mother also died of Alzheimer’s and it scares me too. I've noticed this happening to me for several years now and I have had previous surgeries but never thought momory loss could be related to them. Maybe it's stress related. I hope anyway.

I have lots of questions
I have the same problem. I have only had one fill so far and still have very very little restriction. This is the part most people refer to as banster hell because we have to use self control (and I have little of that). This week has been especially hard for me since aunt flo is visiting. I have been eating bad things at least once a day every day. Can't wait til she leaves town again. lol

Mother of the Bride dress
A friend of mine is getting married and her mother needs a dress in a size 4X or size 50. Does anyone have something like that in that size and willing to part with it for a low price? Thanks, Sheri

The End of Summer Challenge
Checking in at 212. Didn't reach my goal (not even close really) but happy that I lost weight instead of gaining. Looking forward to the next challenge. Maybe I will do better next time now that I am getting fills. Great job everyone! Let's keep going.

Newly banded and sleep
I slept in a recliner for a while, made it easier to get up. After that I slept on my back for a while and then on my side after about 1.5-2 weeks. I have never been a stomach sleeper, but you should be able to sleep on your stomach after about 2 weeks.

Ugh not another band is a "tool" person
I'm still newly banded having gotten my first fill today so I may be wrong, but I thought if a banded person was unable to keep food down and had acid reflux it could be a sign of slippage or being too tight. Have you been checked for slippage? Just curious. Maybe this isn't the right tool for you. Thought about a revision to RNY or the sleeve? Hope you are able to get it straightened out. Sounds like a miserable place to be in. Good luck.

Sleep Apnea-- Can I still have the surgery?
Are you self pay or using insurance for the surgery? If you are using insurance then Absolutely! It's considered a condition that will possibly be cured by losing weight. If you are self pay that pose as a problem since you no longer have the machine. You may be required to get one and use it consistently before surgery. I have sleep apnea and my doctor required me to use my machine everyday before surgery and even bring it with me the day of surgery just in case. I ended up not needing it and never even took it out of the bag, but they did make me stay over night since I have sleep apnea. Definately talk to your doctor and find out what he/she requires for the surgery as far having sleep apnea. Good Luck!

need to buy new scale
I spent about 15-20 dollars on a digital scale at wal-mart and it's accurate, gives me the name reading as the digital scale at my doctor's office. Don't need a fancy "as seen on tv" kind of scale, just something to let you kno where you stand.

How do i find a surgeon?
you can actually find surgeons on this web site. Look in the upper RH corner of the screen and you should see a tab labeled SURGEONS. Click on that and you can begin looking for certified surgeons in your area. You can also go to the lab band web site www.lapband.com to find a certified surgeon near you. Or try this one http://www.lapbandtalk.com/forum/842-chicago/ Good Luck! ~Sheri

I was retaining Water most of last week so I only lost 0.2 lbs. And this week is going to be tough too because I will be starting regular food and my kids birthday party is this weekend. (My son will be 6 tomorrow and my daughter 3 next month! ) I am going to try not to over do it though. Planning on one small slice of cake and one small slice of pizza at the party. I am doing well so far with not drinking while eating and at first that was a HUGE challenge for me so I am proud of that.

New to Lap Band Talk, but not to the lap band
Welcome to LBT and congrats on losing and keeping off the 130lbs!

Carbonated Drinks
If you decide to try them make sure you do it VERY moderately beacause they are emty calories that add up quickly. I haven't tried any since weeks before banding, but my dad had the by-pass surgery and drinks them just fine. But then again, he has also gained back most of his weight too. Good luck!
