Hunger pains

I was banded May 20 2009. I was wondering if any one feels like I do. I am so hungry I say hungry on this liquid diet. I just can't control the hunger pains. Please someone tell me you had this too and it will not last forever. What is going on ? I came out of surgery wanting something to eat.

Many of us are very very hungry post op (not all though; some lucky people have swelling or some other issues that prevent the hunger, but not all of us). Just follow your post op diet/instructions. It will pass.

The key for me is to eat every 2-3 hours, not letting yourself get hungry. Kinda like pain medication, take it before your pain gets too severe. Ive found that its like clockwork......I can tell when 3 hours has hit because I start to feel mild hunger. Plus this frequency builds your metabolism. It will get better....it has for me. Plus.....when your not "starving" you make better food choices. When you are at the "starving" point, you dont care what you eat, just as long as you eat. At least that is the case with me. Always keep something handy, for me its SlimFast. I had my surgery on the 6th. Best Wishes to you/us. LOL!

I was banded on 3/30/09. After 2 weeks, I was on soft foods, now normal foods. Seems like a long time to be on liquids. Ask your nutrionist would be able to determine if you were ready for soft/mushie foods. Good luck!
