after surgery question

my surgery was monday may 4 2009. it is now saturday may 9. I also had lots of gas the first few days. today it is much less except when I drink or have food liquid of course. I have so far not been hungry had meals about every 2.5 to 3hrs. 4 oz soup or medifast that kind of thing. But other then pee nothing else comes out. Sorry not a normal subject but I was wondering if others have the same thing.

I responded to this in your "hello" thread in the "introductions" forum. Not that you won't get other answers, but mine is there.

Go (or send a friend) to get some miralx. Watch the amount of pain meds you are taking and get plenty of hydration. You don't want to get completely constipated. Stool softners help and are not adictive.

I was banded on May 5th and I have had the same problem. If nothing by Monday I will call the doc to see if I can take a laxative, I don't think a stool softener is going to work for me since there is nothing to soften.... or it doesn't feel that way.

I took a laxative 2 days post surgery, they said this was fine as long as you're getting in the required fluids. It got everything moving including the gas, and I only took one dose. Good luck.
