Feeling Hopeful

Hi Everyone,

I had my surg 1/20..I'm down 20lbs. On soft/mushie diet and feeling very good about myself for the first time in a long time. I haven't started exercising and know I need to start. I have a treadmill but have avoided it so far. Any words of encouragement are appreciated.

Take it slow but the more you push yourself the more amazing you are going to feel about yourself. Eventually the exercise will be a part of your routine and you won't be able to imagine life without it!! Good luck

That's a good idea for all of us let's just walk it until we are covered in sweat! I can feel myself getting thinner lol!!!

I did a mile and a half (I know, I'm fat and slow, but I was sweating!) before PT this morning...anyone join me? -BG

I did 30 minutes on the treadmill after my port incision was really bothering me. I'm 4 days post op, how long does this usually hurt for?

SaraEmily- Port incision pain: It sounds like it's different for everyone, but I've heard it gets better after a few weeks, but for some it's a month or more before it completely goes away. Remember that's where the band goes in as well so it's not just the incision/port, but also the abdominal wall that needs to heal there. Great job w/30 min.! -BG

Thanks I talked to my nurse this morning and she said pretty much the same thing. I did another 30 minutes this morning although after 20 I was ready to quit! How are you doing with exercise?
