Tijauna Lap Band

I was banded on June 24th in Mexico and am doing great. I'm still on a liquid diet and have lost 18 pounds already. I was a little sceptical about going down there but a contact that had it done went with me and I had a great experience. If you want details let me know.

Hey Merna! I'm glad to hear that it went well! I'm being banded in Tijuana by Dr. Ortiz on July 24. Who was your Dr.? Please do share some details. Were you OK to fly home 2 days afterwards (I added 1 extra day for my hotel stay)? How big/painful are your incisions? Any other info that you have would be great too. Thanks! Good Luck!

Dr Lisa Pompa was the doctor that banded me. A gal that had been banded a year ago took 5 of us down. The day we got there Dr Betancourt(administrator) took us all on a picnic, then we went to the San Diago Wild Animal Park. We then went to Tijuana where we checked into the Tijuana Marriot (5 star), got cleaned up and then to supper where we could eat anything we wanted. Everything was paid for except for our flight. We sprnt the first night in the hotel, the next night at the clinic and then back to the hotel for our last night. I had 5 insisions, 2 with one stitch, 2 with three stitches and 1 with six stitches. As long as you walked around a lot it was fine but when getting up and down it hurt a lot. You have to sleep in your back for awhile. We had a driver and an intupreter with us at all times, we were not allowed to go out on our own. The night before we came home we were able to go shopping for about an hour but we had to have our guy with us. After the surgery we were given antiseptic spray, antibidics and electrolite drinks. You need to stay on liquids as long as possible to let the band settle and heal. Anything else let me know. The nae of the medical clinic was Emmanuel Medical Clinic.

I hope you still check this site!! I would love to hear how things are going now. Every time I think I've made my decision to do this, I start worrying about little things like, post op visits, fills etc.
