Excited, Scared and Confused

Hi,

I Just received my surgery date of July 23, I'm so excited. I was very pumped after reading Lisetheloser's blog. However, I read some of this site and became a little more uncertain. I have read more negative things on this site. She was so positive and about the entire experience that I felt I was making the right decision. However, I'm a little more concern now hearing about cheating and not losing weight. I don't want this to be another failed attempt at losing weight. I'm looking for positive reinforcement if anyone has any please help I'm getting a little "why am I doing this if I'm not going to lose weight."

Oh, ignore me probably nerves.

Congratulations on your date and your decision to take control of your body/life.

You will get out of it what you put into it. It's that simple.

The folks that are whining about not losing are the ones not following the food guidelines and not exercising. Just stick to your game plan and you will do fine.

Educate yourself on the band and you will worry much less.

Good Luck!!!

I have had a very positive experience so far. Some folks just like to play up the drama a little. The band is a tool. No more, no less. Use it right and you'll do great!

I am considering LB surgery. I have been a yoyo dieter all my life. I have never been able to follow a good healthy food plan for any length of time (maybe 3 months at the most). My question to myself and you guys is this, "What makes me think I will be sucessful at following a food plan once I have the lapband?" Is there a "personality type" that's doomed for failure? I'm somewhat of a rebel.

i look at the before and after pictures every day and some times if that doesnt help i go and read the comments on the plastic surgery threads cause most of those people have lost 100lbs or more and that gets me pumped.

Yeah I'm also worried about having the procedure. I'm concerned because I've never had any follow through on my diets and I'm concerned that this will be another failed attempt. My surgery is scheduled for August 17 and my diet begins on the 3rd. After eading some of these posts I'm absolutely terrified.

Okay, surgery done now i'm having my first fill on Sept 2. I'm a little scared but also excited to see what happens next. I have not lost much weight since my surgery only 15 1bs since July 23, but i'm eager for the next step. My doctor told me it's okay that I haven't lost that much weight right now because I haven't really started my journey because I haven't had any fills yet so ready set let's go. I'm going to be a big girl about this
