Discouraged and scared

I am 2 1/2 weeks post op. I was doing good and lost 20 lbs. Then last week on one of my weigh ins...I was up .4 and then the next one up .6 and then the next one up .2 and the next one up .4. What gives? Up 1 1/2 lbs and I haven't change my eating. I'm still sipping on my protein shake throughout the day. I don't eat between meals. I'm more hungry now, but I just sip on my shake. I'm freaking out here. I kept telling myself, I was ready for a fill, but Dr. says it might be up to 3 to 4 weeks yets. Now I'm really freaking out. Should I go ahead and go to soft foods or stick to the pureed foods and eat more protein? :):):scared2::)

Stay with your Dr's program. Keep up the protein to keep the hunger at bay. You really can't go by the week to week scale this early with the band. Your body is going through some major changes and needs to heal/settle. That is why the Dr is waiting on the fill. Loosing weight in the first few months is a bonus. The real weight loss will be when you hit a sweet spot with fills and you're settled into a reduction phase and the scale will drop steadily.

Have patience. How long did it take to gain all the weight?

Good luck.

Thank you Amanda. I needed to hear that. It took a long time to put the weight on, so you are right, it will take a while to take it off. Thanks for your comment. It helped a lot.

Don't freak out  your body is going through so many changes right now it will change day to day until you get a good groove going. As Amanda says, listen to your doctor and stick with the program he lined up for you. Water weight counts for alot too, weather, high and low pressure systems etc can make you fluxuate a pound or two. Keep on track it sounds like you are doing great....20lbs WOW that is a great start to the new skinnier you!
