No Suprise

:mad:I got the OFFICAL letter of denial from the insurance company today. I can not believe some insurance companies will cover the surgery and some won't. I think most of them won't cover the surgery and it SUCKS. As I have known from the get go...I will have to pay $18,888 to have the surgery. I want this so bad I will do it. :cry On the brighter side, it is Christmas and I am so looking forward to it. HAPPY HOLIDAYS

I am so sorry this has happened to you. I am waiting for my insurance company to respond. they got the information they needed on Dec. 5th. The longer I wait, the less confident I become. I am praying that I get approved. If not, I will be heading to Denver, CO. From what I ahve been reading on this site there is a place that will do it for a little over $9000. You may want to consider that. Good luck to you.

The $18,888 I will be paying covers everything preop, postop and all my appts. up to 1 year after surgery. I wish you luck with the insurance. Mine was turned in on December 10th, so maybe you will hear something very soon! Happy Holidays!! I will be sure to keep everyone updated. I sure love this site. I haven't looked at where you are from but I am from Idaho (Boise). I got banded in Oct. Thank God my insurance covered it. But my banding cost was right around 10K. That includes 1 year of fills/post op appts. I don't know if your close to here or another state or city that offers the surgery for less. You might want to check other options out.
