Hi, I had it bad before surgery. I am still on Prilosec now. I don't feel the heartburn though. I was "lucky" enough to develop an ulcer 8 mo after surgery ( which is rare according to my surgeon, thats why i am still on it).I think it depends on each person and how their body responds. I did go from 40mg a day to 20mg. That is a plus. :)

I will be having my surgery June 2013 and I suffer from Acid Reflux really bad, so bad that everything I eat, feel like it comes back up...I am on two different meds for this plus I take gas-X. I sometimes have difficutly with burping and passing gas. My doctor told me after this surgery, it should stop. Whereas if I chose the band or sleeve, it might make it worst...please keep me updated with your progress with Acid Reflux after surgery.
