Wow, Stricture...

I had my surgery on August 14, and thought it would go smoothly. (for the most part).

Then I started having issues where I couldn't get food down and I couldn't drink anything. Once the dehydration started, I finally called the doctor and made an appointment.

Doctor. Taylor tells me that I have stricture and that he needs to go in and widen my esophagus. I had no idea.

My advice to any and all, if you don't feel right, call the doctor. Dont wait as long as I did.

Back to the hospital tomorrow and clear liquids. Yum..<---- sarcasm...

Could you please elaborate when you have a second after your intervention I think everybody would be interested in what were the symptoms and all other details. I certainly do.

I had the same procedure done in April! I had my surgery done in Dec. I was told a lot of people go through this. My symptoms were nausea, throwing up , hard to shallow , felt like food was getting stuck. My side hurt. It didn't matter what I ate, I threw it up. Sometimes I didn't eat due to feeling so bad and was throwing up. That's the worst! After, he went in and strength my sleeve a little, all was well! Thank God!

I could not eat. As soon as I got a little bit of food down it would come back up, if it didn't it hurt going down and felt like it was sitting in my throat and couldn't go down. It does make you not want to eat. I have a hard time getting vitamins, water, food or anything for that matter down. He is going to go into my throat and widen it so that food and liquid goes down easier.

Wish me luck.
