I am a few days away from my 6 month anniversary of my Sleeve. I have lost 94 pounds and have about 12 pounds to go to reach my original goal. I have been hovering right at my current weight for about 2 weeks now, and I am fluctuating a pound up or down from my current weight. I am still eating right and exercising as much as before, but I just can't get past my current weight. Am I done losing??? I know 94 pounds is a lot of weight loss and everyone tells me I am looking and doing exceptionally well, but I really want to reach my goal of 12 more pounds. Am I being unrealistic about the 12 pounds? Should I just accept that 94 pounds lost might be it for me? I know 94 pounds is nothing to sneeze at, but up til now, I have been accustomed to stepping on the scale and seeing a loss in weight. It is freaking me out to see the same weight, and sometimes a pound more, especially knowing how hard I am trying. Signed, Not sure if I should be sad or glad...........

I am pre-op but I don't think you are done losing and you should be HAPPY! All my slimmier friends are always 10-20 pounds from their ideal weight, be it their personal or bmi chart goal. It has been ingrained in us since birth. The perfect number on the scale!

I have a close friend who had this surgery and her last 20 pounds took 8 months to come off. Her first 120 came off the first 8 months. She beat herself up and finally just let it go and kept on living a healthy life. It came off. During that time her skin tightened up inches came off and she started to look like a naturally thin person. She looked great but after her body caught up she looks better than she has ever looked. She had lost so much weight so fast her body needed time. I can't give you any advice as I am not post-op but I think you look great and those damn pesky 12lbs will come off! Just enjoy the success keep on working to be healthy, that elusive number is just a number! I know easier said than done!

It took me 18 months to reach goal and had a stall of 3 months. Just relax. I know how hard it can be to not lose weight, but it does slow down after the 6 month mark. I lost my first 55 lbs in the first 6 months, and then it took a year to lose the last 25lbs. If you are doing everything right, you will start losing again. It is a myth that after 6 months you no longer lose weight. The 6 month window is the "honeymoon" where you lose the fastest, but it is not the end. So don't be sad!

I think you look great! I'm your height, and have been told my goal weight could be anywhere from 150 - 195. Don't get hung up on the number - how do you feel? Are you able to physically do everything you want to? Can you buy regular size clothes now? Do you work out regularly so are strong and toned? Those should be your goals, not the number on the scale.

Congratulations!

No you are not alone. I have experienced a stall at 7 months out and even though I am 9 months out now still battle on with the scale...up a pound or down a pound..I am still exercising and watching my diet. I was so glad to hear that I was not alone having this stall. It was a relief really. So just keep on eating healthy and exercise.

Thanks everyone! I have been gauging my success by the scale for 6 months now, and I sometimes forget that I am healthy, active, happy, and don't have to shop in the plus size section anymore----I need to focus on these facts instead of the scale at this point. I am actually in the size clothes I thought I would be in after I lost weight, so I am happy, happy, happy about that. Scale schmale...... :)

I read a lot of the posts here and many people take anywhere from 12-24 months to lose all the weight that they want to. Just keep up with your efforts, I'm sure you will lose some more weight if you do.
