YES!! I can totally relate.... It was 11 days after surgery before I finally "went".... I had to start drinking "smooth move" tea each evening to get regular again.. I definitely don't go as often as I did before surgery but the tea really helped. You may want to add some stool softeners to your diet as well. I highly recommend the tea though! You should be able to buy it in your grocery store... Where all the herbal teas are located.

Good Luck!

It is a battle that seems to be very popular with this surgery. Get 64oz of water in your body everyday!! It is absolutely going to make all the difference in the world. When I dont get my water in - that is when I need to take laxatives.

I'm pre-op but I've had WLS before and had this problem after pretty much every surgery I've had... It's almost definitely because you're not getting enough water! For immediate relief I second the smooth move tea if you want something more natural. It's available at the grocery store. But if that doesn't work (since it's more mild), or if you're looking for something a little more guaranteed, pick up some colace stool softeners. They're perfectly safe and gentle on your delicate new system and can get you through the couple days while your get your fluids back up. Good luck and congratulations!! :)
