I think you are on the border-line if your BMI is 38.9. Do you any co-morbidalities? I'm 650 pounds and I didn't qualify either - because of exclusions in my policy - we have the Ohio High Risk Pool insurance.

There are still many options out there, - you can finance it, try one of the Mexican Doctors, or sit and wait till your health does make you qualify.

Stay with it - I never thought I would be able to afford it, I thought I was just going to die in my bed at 800 pounds or something.. I finally got my miracle, you will too.

In your shoes, I would find out what insurance requires--for some, a BMI of 40 with no co-morbidities will do it. At your present weight, how much is a BMI increase of 1.1 going to be? About 10 lbs, I'd guess, maybe less. So you could gain a little more to qualify, or you can self-pay for anywhere from 5-20K. I went to Mexico, myself, with a BMI of 35 and no co-morbidities.

hi autumn

its so ridiculous, i've heard it said before by ins. companies. Basically you have to be "sicker" to be covered by ins.

should have diabetes, sleep apnea, high blood pressure - woopie now that you have all those problems you can be approved. Or of course you could gain weight too.

I was approved by ins - how lucky was i having all those medical problems

whose sicker, us or the insurance company
