Followers I am excited about my decision to go with the Sleeve instead of Bypass. My husband is having the surgery also. We have recieved mixed advice on having surgery together. I think we will draw strength and support from each other. How about you ?
MGBforME Gastric Sleeve Patients November 30, 201114 yr Author stats Hi had VSG recently. I recommend someone be there to tend to you both. One or both of you may not feel all that chipper like I didn't. You need someone to help you get out of bed once the cath is removed, and after. That first/second day is horrible! I had never experienced nausea with surgeries prior but this knocked me down.. and wiped me out. The pain part isn't so bad.. but in conjunction with nausea made me weaker. I also got high blood pressure after surgery and had those meds as well. the pain meds I was getting initially thru the pump made me nauseus as well. I was more wiped out with this than two c- sections. Oh forgot to mention you cant sleep in the hospital so by day three I was ready to cry I was so tired. I told them and they were ok about doing all tests at once and letting me sleep about three -4 hours in a row. It made a big difference. After I got home I felt pretty good though. The straight liquid diet is quite the bummer. prepare for diarhea!
Pamela Briggs Gastric Sleeve Patients December 11, 201114 yr Author stats Wow... I am trying to get my insurance company to approve the sleeve. Looks like they won't so I will have to have what they do cover and thats the Bypass... Go figure. I will keep in touch to see how your doing.. Hope its going better for you.
