Pre-op Visit

So my pre-op appt was November 15th, 2011. It was mostly filling out paperwork, turning in disability forms, and getting a doctors note. I got there about 15 mins early and filled out all of the necessary paperwork then I was called to the back room. I got weighed and learned I was 20lbs heavier (410)than I was my first appt in April (390). I met with the doctor and we went over what the surgery would entail again. After making sure all of my test and paperwork was turned in he stated that even though I gained the weight he would still go through with the surgery without delaying it.

After leaving the doctors office I had another pre-op at the hospital where the surgery would be performed. While on the way to the hospital I received a call from my surgeons office stating that one of the test was not in my file. Turns out I never had the test but the doctor stated it was fine to proceed without it. Whew!! So I get to the hospital and fill out more paperwork, then I give blood and urine and my pre-ops are done.

My doctors office only requires a one day liquid diet the day before surgery. That was pretty simple I wasn't hungry and only focused on drinking as much water as possible that day. I did pretty well reaching my hydration goals.

Next up- Surgery day
