4 Days Since Surgery-still Draining

I had my surgery 4 days ago in Monterrey, Mexico. Dr. Miguel Zapata performed the surgery. Everything seemed to go as planned except that I have turned out to be a bleeder. I bled more than usual and was told to take my drain home with me for a few extra days. I had to have a transfusion while still in the hospital. Sounds creepy and serious but it wasn't. So now I home and back to work. I have my drain hidden under a baggy dress and a scarf. I am still draining anywhere between 10 and 25ccs of blood three times a day. I would really like for this to be over. Argh. In other news, I am still having sharp pains when I swallow. I once attributed this to the Co2, should I still?

I am so anxious to get on with healing. I am trying to be my body's cheerleader but she isn't responding!!

Has anyone else had these problems?

I'm so sorry to hear what you are going through. It does not seem normal to be losing blood daily. I had my surgery 1 wk ago today. I'm not having any draining problems but they did want to transfuse me a couple of days later because I lost blood during surgery but I refused and got the iron infusion instead. Please let me know how this goes and I pray things get better for you. Stay encouraged and take it easy.

I am getting iron shots as well. Those start today. Maybe that's what I need, a good solid shot of iron!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

BTW, how do I get my weightloss ticker to show up? It shows in my signature but not in my posts. I know this is off topic but I've been trying to figure this out.

I clicked on the get the code button on the ticker website page. Then copied that code and pasted it into my blog post. This is probably not the way to do it but it wasn't clear to me either but this worked so I went with it.

How much weight have you lost so far?

Today is day 4 after my VSG! Let me say this...there is no way that I would be ready to go back to work. Just yesterday I got my "head" back to normal. All the meds they give us, I was foggy and unclear on everything. I have been blessed my the mercy of the Lord...no pain and no vomiting. I experienced some nausea when taking pills..but we solved that by placing them in a tiny amount of sugar-free pudding. The pills go down easy and no nausea! :) I am taking it one day at a time and thanking God everyday! :)
