Doctor submitted to BCBS...

Just a quick post to say that my doctor submitted to BCBS for approval this past Thursday & now I'm just in hoping, waiting & praying mode!

I knew I'd hit a plateau because I hadn't lost any weight last month -- and, in fact, gained 1.5 lbs. (Was pretty disappointed about that.) But...Doctor was pleased that body fat % had gone way down and body muscle % had significantly increased -- so there's something of an explanation for it...

Anyway -- just wanted to say that I'm still here, eagerly reading about everyone's experiences ~~ so please keep posting, it helps keep me focused & motivated!! Much thanks to y'all!!

:)

LAP-BAND Patients

Hi. I was just wondering if you received your approval from BCBS yet. My surgeon submitted my file to BCBS of IL last Friday and just wanted to get an idea of how long I could be waiting. Thanks.

I was going to ask the same questions. My doctor just sent my paperwork off for pre-cert on Wednesday and I was wondering how long it would take to get approval. I too have BCBS (PPO). My doctor's assistance said it can take anywhere from 2 - 30 days. Guess I'll just site tight, try to exhale and wait.

Keep us posted,

Thanks,

Niki

Hello:

M

e too, waiting....please let me know. I have BCBS of Minnesota. I don't know how this is going to get approved. I have coverage but they say the sleeve may not be covered....I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :)

Gastric Sleeve Patients

My doctor submitted to bc/bs Mass. and it took two weeks to get approval.....for the wrong surgery (they approved for RNY not VSG). The surgeon then appealed to bc/bs again and the approved the vsg in about 3 weeks....which was good because they usually view vsg as an investigational surgery and do not cover it.
