I am coming up on two weeks and I still can't eat very much before I am full, when does that sort of diminish? I have lost 41 lbs including pre-op so the weight has really fallen off me. I am just starting to feel a little tired. So is that just vitamins? Guess I don't understand how the starting real food affects everything. I am just getting to where I can drink a normal sip of water, food heck I can't eat anything before I am full. Did you guys have that issue. When I eat it takes about 1 1/2 hours for just a small amount is that normal? Ring me back on this I am interested.

What you are experiencing is completely normal. I could only eat 2oz for the first 3 months. Mushies I could get in about 3oz, but if it was dense protein, I was lucky to get in 2oz per meal. Swelling is different for everyone, so just give your body time. I found if I drank warm fluids before eating, I had more flexibility. If that makes any sense. I drank quite a bit of warm, herbal decaf tea. Exhaustion at this point is very, very normal, are you getting in your protein? I've talked to a few of the male patients and they say they needed more protein to feel more "normal".

Best wishes, and don't give up. If you start having pain or vomitting, check with your surgeon ASAP.

Thanks I will try the warm fluids first, I did notice hot soups went down well.... but not really any protien in that.

Some people add the unflavored protein powder to their soups just to get in some protein. You can also pop an egg white in the soup, nuke in the microwave for a little bit, and that adds 7 grams of protein. I left out the yellow as that is where all the fat, and cholesterol are in eggs.

42 lbs is including Pre surgery as well. I have worked out every day for 30 minutes on a Elliptical machine. However, I believe I am burning more than I can get so today I have stopped the work out and focus on the Protein and Vitamins. I actually felt much better today. It has only been 3 days that I felt weak. So hopefully I have caught it, I actually did not want to loose this fast but heck I will take it. I also have had no pain from the surgery my doctor Thomas Umbach in Vegas installed a Pain drip system that would last for 3 days – honestly I would not have believed it. I figured this problem was my creation from the working out. I am focused on doing this right, I am in the next size pants and the belt is on the last hole so new clothes are needed soon – not bad for 2 weeks. The only issue I have had is the ability to get the amount of Protein down, trying but it is a slow go.

I have read that some people, especially men need salt. One guy said that he was feeling really bad and he remembered to eat salt and felt much better. Also there are some protein soups out there that are suppose to be really good.
