A New New Dawn

Gastric Sleeve Patients

Don't be discouraged. This is quite normal. You are bloated and swollen still from surgery. You should not be focused on losing right now and just healing. Truly, most of us were up a pound or two (or more) post surgery. Seriously, the next 2-3 weeks just focus on healing. It will start to come off before you know it.

That's VERY normal.

Take one day at a time... you will start to see results.... don't forget to take your measurements... try not to weigh yourself everyday... try only once a week. While I was losing I only got weighed and measured once a month by my family doctor (i don't own scales). I found this really kept me motivated and on track. I still get weighed in every month with my family doctor and host a monthly coffee group for people that are banded or looking into the procedure. Support groups are also are big help.

Good luck.

Yes, I gained in the beginning..then lost 30 lbs fast, then stopped losing again. Give yourself time. It is a game of your body catching up with whats going on. It will come together soon. I am at 4 months post op, & down 30 lbs. I hit a plateau and now I am starting to lose again. It just takes time. Don't worry.

Hi, I think the swelling certainly can be an issue for some, have you considered what your intake is, I also am 1 week post surgery. I have a meal replacement shake in the morning, about 100gms no fat plain yoghurt at midday and a cup of smooth soup in the evening. I also sip water continually throughout the day. am losing weight, hope this helps you,
