Off To A Running Start- Then Hitting The Wall

Well I have been banded and filled for the first time, so I am a little late to the blog party but at least I have showed up and plan on sticking around. I am certainly an impatient person, I think this is so because I am a fix what's not working personality and when your weight isn't working for you then you need to fix it correct? Well unfortunately I can make the decision to fix it but the weight doesn't automatically fall off like I would ever so like it to so now I have to wait, which I am not very good with.

I lost 18 pounds during the liquid diet both pre and post op, but since real foods have been introduced I haven't lost a thing. Everything feels as though I am being ganged up on in life lately and I suppose that this makes it all the easier for me to see the lack of weight loss in the past three weeks as a personal failure, which I know isn't true but try convincing my ego of that fact. =) So I am reaching out to those of you who are going through similar situations for support and encouragement, and I must say am overwhelmed at how amazingly open y'all are to do so. I really do look forward to working through this marathon with y'all as support.

Current weight 212.8- week 5 post op.

Slice of sweetness for the day- my kids are sharing a bed this evening, having a sleep-over with each other, which is all too sweet. And is just what I needed today, it seems to put things in perspective for me. =)

Proverbdoll - you sound down. Girl, pick yourself up..You have lost weight, you have had a life changing surgerical proceedure and YOU WILL SUCCEED. I have been banded a 1 yr and I hit the wall so many times -m y head hurts, Keep your monthly appointments with the doctor, get your fills and follow the directions (as closely as possible). Your children sound precious - take them for a walk or to the park. Or just take yourself for a walk. It will make you feel better, it will help you loose weight and it will clear you head. This band thing is no magic bullet - it is just a tool fastened around the top of your stomach - you have to use the tool, you have to figure out how to make the most of it. You can and you will. It does take some time - some trial and error - some sticking and PBing - even some "oops - should not have eaten that"..but you will get this and you will succeed. You made a big decision and you went through a bunch of stuff to qualify for the surgery so hang in there..you are tougher than you think and those stubborn pounds will go away - One-derland is close and I look forward to hearing you celebrate when you get there. Have a great week.

Welcome to my world... I had surgery on 5/25, Ive lost a total of 25lbs. I gained about 3 when I started solids, but my surgeon didn't feel that I needed a fill since I did lose 4lbs. Went on vacation and gained 3, but since then I have lost about 6. Next visit is scheduled for Monday... thinking I may need a fill. I get full pretty quick, but I get hungry in 3hrs. Still working out and making smart food choices, guess it's all about patience now... Stay strong, we will make it through this!!!
