No Weight Loss After Surgery?

I am so confused I dont know if I am doing something wrong. Since I transitioned from liquids to food I havent lost any weight In fact I gained a pound. It has only been 1 week but I am sticking to 800 to 1000 calories a day...(most of the time at 800 or a little under or a little over) and I am very active. I eat 1/2 cup of protein and 1/4 cup veggies and 1/4 starch like the doc told me. Has anyone else experienced this or am I over reacting? I have not had a fill done yet..but it seems to me that eating that few of calories I should be losing something not gaining. It does feel like my pants are getting looser but no pounds lost only gain.

Any insight?

I am experiencing the same exact thing!! I was begining to worry. I was banded only a week ago and have not yet lost a pound!! I am eating about the same amount of calories as yourself is not less and have had no results. Hopefully this stage will pass soon.

You body will catch up! It is confused right now by the changes you have made and it just takes it time to catch on to what it is supposed to do. But dont worry ! It will come off.. and then you will most likely hit a plateau again after 10-20 pounds and have to wait again... I went through cycles like that where I would loose 8- 10 one month and gain 2 the next... then another 8- 10 and so on... everyone is different and your bodies react differently due to your metabolism and body size etc. If you have not started to exercise, do that also.. walk or swim... something to add that element, it will help your metabolism start burning more! I waited until I felt more comfortable with my body to start working out, always was embarrased to step into a gym the size I was..but that would have helped me more if I had done it from the start.

Thank you! I needed to hear your advice. I teeter between 0-1 pound that I decided that I was only going to weigh once a week. I have lost inches though! My panties are too big and I had to pin my pants today because they are so big. Small achievements but I will take them. I also read on another board that we should try to adjust our calories a bit each day so that our body doesn't get in a rut. One poster mentioned that she tries something each week and it has been working for her to help adjust her calories. She follows a schedule:

Monday-clear liquids

Tuesday-creamy liquids

Wednesday-Soft foods

Thursday-Sunday-Regular foods (Weekends with family, etc.)

I am wondering how that would work for me? Thought anyone?

Best to do meassurements too, sometimes we lose inches buyt the scale dont move.. Make sure your eating enough,m if not enough you wont lose, body holds on to it thinking it's starving. My thing is when i get my water in and walk it helps me the most.l

Thank you so much everyone for the posts. I feel much better now. I feel like my cloths are fitting looser so maybe my body is confused. How many calories is too little?
