Why Did I Do This To Myself?

June 7th, 2007 was the day that I was banded. I weighed 286 pounds. Over the course of the next 18 months I made it all the way down to 206 pounds. Then my band slipped and I had to have corrective surgery and it scared me to pieces.

Long story short.... the weight came back. Dang.

Today I weighed 258.8 pounds. My goal weight is 186 pounds. This blog is going to be my daily record of what I am eating, how I am exercising and a documentation of the emotional journey that I am taking.

I have heard it said that if I can lose it the second time I will never gain it back again. I don't know if that is true but I am willing to do it one more time.... on the thought of being healthy and athletic.

Talk to you all tomorrow...

Blessings,

Michelle

Good for you to make the decision to "get back on the horse" -- and while you gained back -- you didn't gain it all back. You are 27lbs less than your original start so just keep that thought of being healthy and athletic!

LAP-BAND Patients

Good for you, I'm on the same boat as you (minus the slip), since being back on the "band wagon" I've lost 19 pounds and a total of 27 pounds since my pre-op weight. I was getting lazy and not going in for fills and I don't think I ever found my "green zone" so far I have 2.5 ccs in a 4 cc band, got my fill on Monday so I haven't had any solid food yet (Friday) to see how it's going. It takes a lot of patience and I'm not giving up this time! Good luck and if you need a buddy I'm right here!

LAP-BAND Patients

Well, I had my surgery in 2007, had a slip in 2008, lost a total of 103 pounds, was on birth control and got pregnant with twin girls! About a year after they were born until now (2 years later) I am having a terrible time! I throw up EVERYTHING! My band is completely UNFILLED....I had to go to the dentist and have my teeth completely redone because of all of this throwing up....it's a nightmare and I'm creeping up to my orininal weight PRE surgery! Not sure what to do...I got let go from my job in July last year and so now I don't have insurance...I just moved to a new state and don't have a doctor here....UGH!
