I wanted one also, so I poured one in a glass and allowed it to go flat over night. It tasted awful and it make me learn to appreciate other drinks. I was never a big water drinker but I have learned over time. Giving up a Diet Coke was probably one of the single hardest foods to give up. It has been over a year now since I gave up carbonated beverages. Honestly i still miss them but it has been so worth it and not worth the risk of stretching my stomach. My motto "No pain No loss" Good Luck!

Why dont you just have a little soda? During a conference with 6 bariatric surgeons they explained that having a little soda is perfectly fine. They dismissed the MYTH that the bubbles expand your band. The sugar substitute in soda is what is bad for us. For some reason it makes us crave more food and sugar. Do some deeper research on this topic and you will see. Have a half a cup of soda if you want. It's not going to hurt you.

my dietician suggests taking out some of the gas bubbles by stiring the soda with a spoon. try that.

I still drink one 8oz can of Mt. Dew..... sorry i have given up a lot of things, but this won't be one of them. I talked to my dr. about it and he said although it's not great idea to drink soda, it's not the worst thing either.

I drink on it all day.... small sips, but never with a meal. I know, if i only drink that small amount why not give it up all together.... I have tried.. and maybe one day, just not now.

But good luck to you.. and happy shrinkage..
