I did what?

Good Morning everyone!! I signed up for a 5k on the 8th of October so I have been in training for a couple weeks now. I do a walk/jog about 2 to 3 times a week along with my regular cardio and strength training routine. Saturday mornings I go to a greeenway trail with a friend of mine that's also doing the race. This past Saturday we did a total of 6 miles. On the way back I suggested that we try to run most of it. I was able to run 3.2 miles without stopping or walking. I still can't believe that I was able to do that! Of course that distance is a tad more than a 5k. I'm in shock that I was able to do it a month before the race. OMG!! AND....the scale said 225 this morning...almost 70lbs gone!!! I feel awesome people!! for the ones struggling with little restriction, hang in there. I was the same way. It seemed as if I didnt even have a band. It's very important to keep your appointments, not only for the fills but I get great information from the nurses and other office staff. It really helps!

I just made a terrible error DeeDee. I was reading your latest entry and went OMG out loud. My wife is playing farmville next to me and said, "What?" I told her what you are doing and now she wants me to get on the stick and start exercising! So, thanks DeeDee for getting me in trouble. But all joking aside, I am so proud of your decision. Let us know how your training goes. Visit me at
