From: vancouver and area support groups

Is there any support groups in vancouver and area or kamloops or kelowna I can get to any of these areas. I live in 100 mile house . I would really like to

talk to bandsters to hear how they are coping with band. Also if anyone is dealing with Barretts Esophogits and band I really need to talk to you. I am desperate to get

help and info on how to cope with day to day living with band.

Thank you Deb

LAP-BAND Patients

HI there! Did you get banded yet? I was banded 1/17 of this yr. I lost 30 lbs. so far. I have had only 1 "fill" so far of only 1/2 cc. I really don't have much restriction yet. I can pretty much each what I want and can over eat a little too. NOt good. My wt. loss has come to a screaching halt. I have not been exercising much though coz of the bad weather. I live in Penna. It is snowing again! I go back to the Doc in 1 month. Maybe I will get another fill then. I had a hernia repaired during the lapband surgery. I didn't even know I had it other than the fact that I have had GERD for over 5 years and have been on meds for it. The heartburn was terrible. Sorry to hear you have Barretts. Hopefully the band will help alot with that. It should improve drastically I would think anyway? The lapband surger was not bad at all. Others have said it was more painful if they had a hernia repaired as well. Post op shoulder, neck and chest pain was far worse. From the gas that was left in the stomach during surgery. They take some out but not all. Well keep posting on your progress and take care. :)
