The wait.....

Hi to everyone and thank you to all that share your stories. I went to a seminar in October and decided this is for me! I found out my insurance will NOT pay for the surgery, so I am going to use my tax return in Jan or Feb to get it done. I know it is only 2 to 3 months away but I feel like it is NEVER going to get here!!! I think what if I die before it happens!!! or I will be one of the ones it doesn't work on!! Did anyone else have those thoughts? I have been overweight since I was in 2nd grade and have no idea what I will look like. I really don't think my body can be skinny!!! Even reading the stories and looking at the pics I still find it hard to believe that people can change so much!!! I read the post and thought I would leave one today. Thanks for any comments or words of wisdom in advance!! :smile2:

LAP-BAND Patients

2 to 3 months will go by faster than you think! It's been almost 4 months since I got my band and it feels like it was just yesterday for me. Now is the time for you to start digging deep into your thoughts and habits and working on ways to change them. They don't have to be drastic, just baby steps towards making healthier choices. Maybe start walking a couple times a week if you don't already. Increase your water intake & decrease sodas and juices. Anything you can do to help aide in your success after surgery will help you a lot. I wish I had done that before surgery, I just kind of dove in & did it! If you can't picture yourself skinny, picture yourself healthy & fit with toned legs, arms & abs! You look pretty young in your picture, you can have a healthy body for the rest of your life! I have lost 45 lbs so far with about 30 more to go. I love the changes I am seeing and feeling (less pain in my knees!). I wish you the best of luck! Please keep us posted on your progress!
