My "Last Supper"....

So, the surgeon's assistant had said that I could have 1 good, last meal before my surgery. I chose to have mine today at lunch and got a Spicy Southwestern Cheeseburger and fries from Sonic. For my drink, I got a real, Dr. Pepper and I had mint chocolate chip ice-cream and a cookie for dessert. So, I pigged out and was oddly not that satisfied with the meal. It might have been that I had really wanted the Cheddar Pepper burger and I got this one instead. It could have been a little hotter and cheesier too.

Now, I'm back at it. It has been over 5 hours since I ate and I'm not hungry. I figured I wouldn't be. I'll probably just have a protein supplement if I have anything at all.

Lastly, I don't think I counted correctly, when I made my post yesterday. Not counting today, I only have two full days until my procedure. Very weird. I think right now I'm most concerned about being on liquids for two weeks and whether or not I'll have any problems with eating stuff.

Better go for now. Will write again either Tuesday or Wednesday, before I leave for procedure.

I am SO surprised that you could eat that so close to your surgery date! Your doctor is definately not as strict as mine. I have the surgery scheduled for the 13th and have been on a low carb (no more than 30 grams a day) since Wednesday. Next Saturday and Sunday I will be on all liquids with my surgery being Monday. This is my 5th day on low carbs and I must say I hate eat!! I can only have meat and some veggies and am so tired of it already. I mean, how much broccoli can one person eat.

Hope you do well with the procedure and am not as scared as I seem to be.

Congratulations on your approval for surgery! Also, I'm surprised with the last meal allotment, but every doctor and person is different. I had to make it through two weeks of liquids only!! I must admit it helped prepare me for this recovery period.

Good Luck with your journey.

I've seen how so many offices/surgeons are different. After I had that meal, I didn't eat anything else the rest of the day, because I wasn't hungry. ...which makes sense. I think I'll be fine. Today I was back on my pre-op diet. Since tomorrow is my last day before surgery, I'll probably have my whole-grain cereal for breakfast, my protein drinks and a light evening meal early. Maybe I'll have cereal for my dinner also or just have a protein shake. That might be best. Good Luck ConB113 and Loyalfriend.
