Discouraged!

Okay, long story. Banded two years ago. Lost 50 pounds. A year ago, started suffereing from indigestion, acid reflux, etc. Then, increasingly painful gall bladder attacks. My GP sent me for an ultrasound and said I was "fine". Eventually, saw lapband surgeon who said I needed gall bladder removed. Two and a half weeks ago- gall bladder out. Surgeon discovered band had slipped (likely all the vomiting from the gall bladder attacks). This week- surgeon fixed slipped band, and also discovered (and fixed) hiatus hernia. Okay, so now back to liquids for 2 weeks, to be followed by mushies, etc. So depressing! Been there, done that! And to top it all off, my mom called to find out how I was, and when I said I was uncomfortable, told me it was my fault because I had opted for the lapband surgery in the first place!:)

Aww hell, people can be so nasty sometimes huh? Unfortunately those that we love can say some hurtful stuff. Regardless if you opted for the band or not in the first place, you would have still had issues with your gall bladder. As far as your liquid diet, I know that does suck, I'm doing it too, BUT look at it this way.. You can possibly shed a few more pounds! Hang in there! I know you will be successful! You have no choice but to do fabulous! :)

Mothers can be harsh!! That is why I am not telling mine about my surgery.. What would she say if you put the weight back on? Take care of yourself.. be proud of your decission and like diva2010 said.. ya may loose a couple more lbs on the liquid diet.. but more importantly, you will FEEL BETTER, and that is what is MOST important!
