Trying hard not to Compare

Okay here it goes.....

I have been avoiding the computer and this site because I really didn't want to hear how everyone else has lost so much already.

Man, it gets frustrating when I see people losing such huge amounts and I am in single digits still.

Last week I had my second fill. I am now at 3.5cc of a 5cc band. I finally feel some restriction. Not mysweet spot, but it sure feels nice not to eat so much.

I have bumped up my workouts to 3-4x a week.

I was so happy to hear that I did lose 5 lbs since my first fill three weeks ago!

I am going to try to drink more water now and start putting my focus somewhere other than in the house on my bottom , thinking about food and what I can eat next.

I have an amazing support group that I work out with that is keeping me motivated.

Last night I hung out in the shop with my Husband and we did projects side by side. He voiced that he was happy that I came out. I was too!

I was afraid of failing and actually expected to see a gain when I step on the scale....it didn't happen. :)!!!

I will now focus on me and try really hard not to compare. It is my journey.

C U all later. I am off to the gym:thumbup:

Don't avoid...embrace!! You are doing a fabulous job at changing your lifestyle. Focus on making and reaching small helpful goals. For instance, make a goal of drinking 64 ounces of water per day for two weeks and then track it. As you meet your goal you should feel satisfaction from that! Plus, since you are doing something good for yourself, it should start to show (especially since you are getting some restriction.) We are here for support, so come visit as take away motivation, not judgment or sad thoughts!!

I agree with LoseIt, everyday I login and read, read and see photos and it helps me gain the inspiration and push I need to know that I can achieve it also. Take one day at a time and it will happen for you too...God Bless, M-

Thanks for the good thoughts! I had a good work out and a great (small lunch) with friends.

I am working on finishing 50oz of water as I write this.

Thanks for the extra motivation today!

I'll think I will be checking in more often now.

Like weighing too much, comparing yourself to others is just not a good thing. I found myself doing that a lot the first couple months, and realized that it was a negative motivator for me. (Why work out when I'm not losing... Something is wrong....).

Through support groups and people on these blogs, I've come to realize that the journey is mine, and the support I get helps me with the bumps in the road I face. This is a big deal to us. We can't do it alone. But we also can't compare ourselves and judge our success against each other.

That's hard. But we'll all be there, helping each other, through the highs and the lows.

Take care!
