I am VERY excited about my upcoming life changing event! I am also glad that I found this website as a means of support. I am not feeling too supported at home right now. Everything was okay until a few days ago. My husband asked me about loose skin after the surgery. I told him that I know that I may have loose skin in my stomach area and in my breast area, but the rest I think will be okay. Well he continued to question me about the same subject for the next few days.. So last night I confronted him. I said, I am starting to think that you are not so much worried about how I am going to few myself after surgery, but more that you are fearful of what I "might" look like after the surgery. Surprisingly he said, "yeah.." I thought, "Yeah?!" What the heck do you mean "yeah!?" Dude, not to mention that I will not have sleep apnea, high blood pressure and asthma (possible benefits after my weight loss).. But I could not believe that it seemed like he was wrapped up in the loose skin.. Why didn't he say anything the other months that we were discussing/researching?? Instead he decided to save it until 2 weeks before my surgery?? Not cool!

Sorry to hear about that. I also hear that form people... their biggest concern is all about my loose skin... I tell them that loose skin is the least of my worries. How about the fact that only three tops and one pair of pants fits me right now. That's a problem not my up and coming possible loose skin. Good luck!

Hi, I don't think anyone should worry about loose skin after their surgery. For one fat turns to muscle and it tightens up particularly when one exercises three to four times a week. Loose skin is when you have Liposuction! Our weight loss is gradual so much better toning. I am in my 7th month now after surgery, toning up all the time and I really have not started my hard exercise program yet. Don't worry about loose skin too much. Just be patient, and follow the diet plan. Remember exercising tones muscles, (fat turns to muscle-possibly no weight loss--cause your toning up) Then after it reaches a peak, whammo weight loss will happen. I have lingered for one to three weeks without a loss, but then one day there you go. I have seen a gradual loss during my 7 mos. I started at 270#s and now I am 229#s. Goal 170#s(Jan 11-my one year mark). Best of Luck on your journey. You will look fabulous when your done, so hang in there.

If you are diabetic ask your endo or reg doc about victoza,I have lost 9 lbs in two weeks, and have wonderful control of my blood sugar. I have no appetite at all. I wish I had found this before I had gastric sleeve, which did not work or the lapband which did not work. But it was not approved until jan 2010. But I have it now and I think it is a miracle drug for weight loss. thanks judy
