Restriction??

I've had one fill, just this past Monday. And I've been pretty much on soft foods (besides 2 days of liquids following the fill) since then. Had some chicken and mashed potatoes last night with no problems. Though I was making sure to chew everything a LOT! So, this being said, I haven't felt much restriction. I am getting a bit hungry between meals and I don't like that! My doc did say, however, that if that is the case, to come back within two weeks for a bit more fill.

I'm trying to establish if I'm actually hungry or bored. I'm so used to eating for boredom that it's sometimes hard to tell the difference. It's a paradigm shift, that's for sure!

Oh, I have also learned what PB-ing is! Ha! For some strange reason, I'm glad to have found this out first hand. It tells me that the band IS working! I ate half a toasted Weight Watchers pita with fat free butter and got stuck-ish. Maybe I ate too fast or swallowed a bite too big. But the stuck feeling didn't last too long, at least! Sipped some Papaya juice. Not sure that really helped, but a little burp and it was over. Though I am not eating again till dinner! Ha!!

I have lost 3 pounds since Monday! K, that's not like a size down or something, but I'm celebrating the small things. ;)

Hopefully one day I'll BE a small thing! :)

Three pounds is great! I had my fill yesterday and I am hungry a lot too. I had mostly liquid yesterday but they told me I could have soft last night so I had a piece of quiche. It took a really really long time to digest, no pain just really full. I am eating very light today but I am HUNGRY! I go back August 11th for fill #2.

Maggs watch the PG'ing and the being hungry..I just don't want you to be too aggressive on the fills. You may need one in two weeks but just watch and see if you PB'ing on reasons caused by you or your band? and then for being hungry do the same..head hunger, bored or do you need a fill. Typically if you are PB'ing (or getting stuck) and it is not caused by you--eating too fast or too big of bites...you need an unfill. If you are hungry and it is not head hunger or not from being bored then you need a fill. I have a touchy band when it comes to fills that is why I am trying to offer some advise here. I cannot handle any more than 5.5ccs in my band..whereas others can handle a lot more and yes I had to learn the hard way!! LOL

Three pounds since Monday? I would say that is a BIG thing!! :) I have really worked at the head hunger vs. true hunger and it is tough. I do think that it is harder at the beginning when you are actually hungrier more. I would just ask myself if I am hungry enough to eat carrots or something nutritious. If the answer was yes, then I would try and eat something healthy. If the answer was no, then I would find something else to do. Well, at least most of the time. :)

Hey, Maggs. You are doing really well. 3lbs already, that is something. Are you hungry because you are not eating regular food but liquids? I hated the protein shakes and soup so much that I was eating very little until I was able to get on pureed food. My first fill was supposed to be today, but I postponed it until next Thurs. I am excited about it, but nervous at the same time. Good luck to you.
