Spoke too soon

A little help please. Banded yesterday, was doing well .. .. now fever of 100, lots of pain, probably gas from what I've read. I am walking and using gasx. Not eating or drinking much or get nauseated. I tried to be prepared, but this is pretty bad . . . suggestions?

Stay clam. Call your Dr. They want to hear from you. You may need to take a liquid fever reducer. Like Liquid Tylenol. Walking is good if you can it will help with the gas and get things moving. I had an eye dropper of liquid every so often. If you get dehydrated you will be more sick so keep liquids going no matter if they come back. If you can lick an SF Popsicle. You may feel not so good for a few days.

Congrats and Best wishes and keep posting it will help you feel better. You are in my thoughts. imaluckydog

I agree w/luckydog...let your doc know about the fever, try to hv some crushed ice & SF ice pops, walk! walk! walk! for the gas (gas-x ddnt work for me), take your pain meds and "sleep it off"!!

it WILL get better! PROMISE!!!

Thanks luckydog and bandranger . . .good suggestions . . I'll do my best to keep fluids going in. Have not thrown up yet, just feel like I'm going to. And I've had 1/2 a sf popsicle, and some ice chips. Hopefully tomorrow will be better. I appreciate your well wishes. I am walking and don't seem to have much relief with the gasx either .

Hang in there! Day 2 and 3 are just around the corner! I agree that you need to call your doctor, just to check in and make sure all is going well with your recovery.

You really do need to try and get some liquids in you - SF popsicles are an awesome suggestion - and water! Sip it, and just keep on sipping.

gasX strips helped me with gas pains after my surgery - but it might not work for everyone. My suggestion is to talk a little walk around the house every couple of hours, and get that gas moving around.

The good news is, that day 1 is just about done!

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Joanne. Hopefully today will go better than yesterday. I am definitely doing the walking thing. Need to take my temp. and if it is still up, will call the doc. One day at a time, right?

Hi How are you doing today? I thought about you yesterday. Some people have it harder than others the first couple of days. Who knows why? Sounds like you are taking care of yourself. I hope these hard days will pass quickly for you. Just wait and see how much energy you have a week or so from now. Two weeks after I was banded I was running around Disney World with may daughter. I felt like a fat little kid. Now one year later I am a skinny little kid and she cannot keep up with me. It is amazing what a year will do for you when you have the band to help. Speedy Recovery and Best wishes imaluckydog
