Did anyone cry the first week??

I am 6 days post op. Had lap band done on Monday the 21st. I cried probably Wed, Thurs and Friday. I had a low grade temp and that always makes me cry. Today is a much better day... So hang in there... i am by far not a pro..but in the same boat as you and feeling the same things you are... they all say it will get better..so I am banking on that!!! :)

Oh great, I am in my 50's also and waiting to have this lap band thing done. Well, really I am on my first stepping stone so I have a 6 month wait. I guess I have to go thru a lot before the surgery but I am taking one day at a time. You just stay positive for me and keep me posted on how you are doing and would love to know what you had to do to get this far. Judy

I can't say that I cried but I did stop and think to self. WTF did I just do?! lol It is most def a life changing experience... did you catch that word "LIFE"! It will not be as you know it, it will be so much BETTER! It may not seem like it at first. But once you get all of the "rules" down, and really put forth the effort to work with your band and not against it... you start seeing the results of the surgery, get through the pain, handle pb'ing, deal with restrictions, countelss doc visits for fills yara yara.... only then you'll feel "normal" again... because you realize it's all WORTH IT!!

Good luck ladies!!

I was banded on my birthday, 6/21/10 and am calling it my rebirth. I have not been this happy in years. The crying is just your hormones or perhaps some nerves. I feel great and have already lost 7lbs 4oz since the 18th. Just look ahead - feeling better, losing weight, having more confidence. Hold your head up high girlfriend, you just gave yourself a precious gift. Cry tears of happiness because you are a lucky person. Keep us posted - it will get better.

I was banded 6/21. I did not cry but I did have some panic attacks when I realized I REALLY DID IT! And I can't go out to eat with the husband and the kids for a while. Day 3 and 4 were hardest emotionally. And those DAMN food commericals. I swear I never knew how many food related commercials there were!! Then I went to the dr. and saw the major weight loss and it motivated me. After I spoke with them and came to the realization that I will be able to chew food one day soon it calmed me down. Hang in there~

I was banded 6/21/10 and have been a crying mess all week long! Of course, it didn't help that 20 min after coming home from the hospital, my Grandfather had passed away..5 states away so I couldn't travel to be home with my family for his funeral either! But I've been an absolute mess this week, crying, anger, upset with my husband for trying to help me! It can only get better from here!
