My 1st blog entry

Guess I should have started my blog on day 1. But hey better late than never right! I was banded on June 1st by Dr. Holiver. I had single incision in my belly button. I feel great. Pain was finished about 4 days post-op. I lost 8.5lbs in the week after surgery. Nothing since then. I am a bit discouraged. I am looking forward to my first fill since I don't feel any real restriction now. I do feel like my belly is very distended. Not sure what that is all about.

I need to break out of this funk and remember everyone loses differently and hope that the weight will start coming off!

Wow, I was banded on Monday, 4 days ago, and I have 3 incisions - 1 in the belly button, 1 slightly to the left side and one above. I really haven't had too much pain, except for the gas, which is why your stomach is distended. Walking gets rid of that. As for the weight loss, you need to speak with your doctor to see what you should be doing. My husband and I keep hearing you can lose about an average of 100 lbs in 365 days, then we should lose about 1lb every 3.65 days, for about 9 1/2 lbs a month. I'll take that. But whatever I lose, it will be better and healthier for me.

I don't own a scale, but when I go to the gym tomorrow night, I will weigh myself and see if I have lost anything. I certainly hope so because this full liquid diet stinks. Have a great night and good luck to you.

My stomach swelling did not go down for some time. You are still healing on the inside. You wait the pounds melt away. No kidding. I am less than one year and have lost 100 pounds. I am a very different looking person today. Take time to heal. Best wishes imaluckydog
