Hi all-

Surgery for me is on June 3rd and I am getting afraid. I was actually thinking about cancelling it today. Is this a good decision ? In a year from now will I be glad that I made this decision?

Please help anyone out there.

Will I every be able to go in a restaurant and have dinner with my husband again ? Or will I always feel ostracized like I did all day yesterday at the Memorial day cook outs?:frown:

I was scared as my surgery date got closer. I am so glad i went though with it. I have lost 100 pounds in the last 9 months and i go out to dinner all time. It just last me a few days, so I have it for lunch and dinner again until i get tired got eating at it. The only issuse I have when I go out to eat is them asking me if I want water 5 times and I have to keep telling them no no no.

Yeah I was so scared I started to have anxity attacks and I had to take some of my mom's Xanx. :)

Hello, you will still be able to do all those things. You of course will eat less but still can enjoy. I enjoy some of them now while on my journey, McDonalds, Burger King, and resturarants, just eat less, moderately and slow. Read my blogs since Jan 10 you will get an insight into the success of being banded. You will feel great.

My surgery is tomorrow morning and I'm feeling the same way. Scared. Haven't been up to this point but wondering all the same things.

In a year, you are going to be so happy that you did NOT chicken out. This is the start of a whole new you, and congratulations! You are going to be just fine!

Best Wishes!

On this journey you learn what your body can and cannot eat. Everyone is different. There will be some things that you can't eat but you learn to make substitues for it. Like I cannot eat bread of any kind or pastas or rice but I always love a good baked potato. So I never miss the other stuff. If you are miserable being over weight - then missing out on bread may not be so bad.

I eat out all the time. Left overs are GREAT! The hardest part of the journey is the first 2-3 months. After that, it is just learning what you can and cannot eat. And keep in mind, that changes with every fill. But I still enjoy going out. I did however have to give up going out for breakfast...so we do brunch. I can't eat much for the first 2-3 hours after getting up.

BEST decision I ever made for myself! I hope this post finds you doing well...POST OP!
