Fourth day post op

I feel so much better than yesterday!!! Things are looking good! my incisions are healing well and i am able to get around much easier! PTL!!! I am sipping on a protein shake right now and waiting for my uncle to pick up my son and take him to school. I still haven't driven and not sure when I will feel up for it. Thank God for my family! They have supported me throughout this whole endeavor! Couldn't have done it w/o them! I don't know how mothers who have small children get this surgery unless they have a strong family supporting them. It is very physically demanding! I will keep u posted!!

I pray things continue to go well for you. Are you in pain or just sore? My doc gave me the impression that it was a breeze, and I could return to work within 3-4 days. But if you are feeling the way you are on your fourth day, am not so sure things will be that simple. I do know everyone is a little different. Good luck.

Ya i am sore...like when i stand up it takes a couple minutes for me to be able to stand straight. Almost like I have to "re-stretch" my stomach...its kinda weird. I know people who go back to work 3-4 days later no problem...then there are the ones who need a good solid week or two to be able to function at work. Everyone is different i guess!! I am glad i took off this week. I dont rally have a high tolerance for pain so the extra time is so crucial for me!!

congrats on feeling better. I had my surgery on the 4th and I am here to tell you that it gets easier. I took the entire week off that I had my surgery, and then went back to work the follwing Tuesday. I knew I would need the extra time off. Not for the pain but because I do not handle anestesia well. And I was right. I had vision issues from the anti nausea patch they gave me. I could not see with my glasses. Go figure! It resolved itself after the patch was off.

But today, I am feeling pretty good and the pain in the port area is barely noticible.. well, unless I bang it on my desk at work. I got smart and brought a pillow.

And I really could not have done this without my family as well. my parents took my 3yr old for the entire week. I heart my family!

Good luck to you and FOLLOW THE DR DIET INSTRUCTIONS TO THE LETTER. I posted something about my stupid idea just now in the forum. LOL
