almost time and worried!!

I have my surgery in 5 days and just now found out about the pre-op diet!!?? So I am going to crash diet for my pre-op and hope for the best. I am glad I found this site and KNOW that it will help me get through the days ahead.

The site is awesome....I have learned so much from just the short time I have been a member. I wish you well on your journey. Keep everyone updated on your successes and struggles....because as for me it is through other peoples experiences that I have come to realize..." hey I am not as much as an outcast as I thought....and I am not the only person on this entire earth that is going through this"

The people on this site are great and there is nothing to be worried about. You'll do just fine.

I prepared myself for a week of pain and was almost disappointed that all there was was a lot of gas.

I can't believe your surgeon didn't tell you to do a diet before surgery at least before now. That's hard up!! Good Luck! I know I have to do one and I have been gathering info for weeks. I have a two week pre-op diet and then 1-3 weeks after as well.

In just another week I have to go on the two week liquid diet. What a total crock. I'm really not looking forward to this. Basically I'm looking at this as a 2 week pre-op starvefest.

Thanks everyone for the input. When I had my meeting with the surgeon, I asked him is there anything that i needed to do before surgery. And very down to earth and frank he told me there is but it doesn't look like i'd be conforming to his directions...he is probably right. So I guess he will just have to move my big liver aside.lol I watched the procedure on YouTube performed by Dr. Hadar Spivak and he was dealing with a big liver but said it wasn't the worst he's seen. So 4 days i will be eating preop diet and hope it helps. so excited and still so nervous!!
