Why do I feel like I need to eat to everything I can before my surgery. I am so mad at myself because I know I'm over eating right now. I think it is nerves.

I started to do the same thing a few weeks before surgery and in doing so I did some damage meaning I gained back the little bit I had lost the few months before. I had to do a liquid diet two weeks before surgery and even then I allowed myself a meal every two days (nothing too over the top)- the idea that I physically could, where after the surgery I could not just tempted me more. But then something clicked four days before surgery I decided once again that I wanted to be thin and that this was my choice. With that I went into to the surgery with four full days of liquid diet and no last supper. Now three days after surgery I have no regrets about what I ate before, where part of my choice of eating might have been nerves I think it had more to do with ability.

It's totally normal. It's the same way we thought when we planned for a diet...."Oh I will start Monday" mentality. Be kind with yourself.

Why not go out on a limb? Isn't that where the fruit is?:frown:

I did try to buy some protein shakes, green tea, etc. at the grocery store yesterday. Thought I would try them. Some people have mentioned them on here so I thought I should begin to experiment.

I feel the same way! I start my pre-op 2 week liquid diet on wed. I feel like I need to eat things "just this one last time". It's like I will never get to have them again and I am saying goodbye. I know, I need to knock it off! As mentioned above, "Oh, I will start tomorrow."

Good Luck! =)

I think we all do the same thing. I ate everything and anything I wanted until my preop diet started and then I was super strict. Everyone is different. Don't be too hard on yourself!
