Just Because You Can...

Last week I had a meltdown. I got soo hungry. I ate McDonald's, Wings, and Nachos. This was all last weekend. I felt like I was sliding back to my old ways and I was disgusted.

Today I went to the surgeon's office. I saw one of the ladies who was in my Pre Op class. She lost 20 pounds. I told her what happened. She restated the obvious. I went through too much to get this surgery to mess up.

The nurse saw me weighed me I lost 9 pounds. Which is good however last week I was down 13 pounds. That was all I needed to see.

I had a frank discussion with the nurse, told her what I did. She asked me about my protein. I told her I was taking the protein shakes but I was growing weary of the liquid diet.

Today I got back on wagon with the liquids. I just have to learn to be unique with my meals. The nurse asked if I had any stomach issues. I said no I did not. Then she said the magic words "Just because you can ingest it doesn't mean you should eat it" That is my new mantra from here on out!!!!!

Eat the way you want to feel is how I think about what I put in the Hole in my face. I really do want to feel better. I know the foods that make me feel better. Just go slow and chew to beat the band. Yes that protein is always getting me but yogurt, milk, cheese, eggs, fish and seafood, soft meats all work well with the band. I know I need more choices too. I like chili, and stews that are softer, eggplant parm. I do not do pasta very well. You can do this Yes you can. Best wishes imaluckydog
