frustrated!!

hello everyone , I'am so frustrated , why you may ask well first off i am extremely sensitive and i was going about making all the appointments i needed to make for the LAP-BAND® and i been trying to find a psychologist that takes my insurance cause i would have to pay out of pocket for for nutritionist and psychologist and it would be 500 all together im trying to just pay out of pocket for the nutritionist so anyway i made 2 appointments already one for the cardiologist and one for the pulmonary doctor but i need a referal from my primary doctor cause its required by my insurance , i called trying to get them and my doctor got on the phone and was like "what's going on?" and im like im trying to get referals and hes like " what for ? who wants them ? " with this attitude and im like wtf! so i told him to remind him im having the LAP-BAND® done by dr geiss and hes like " who is that?" and im like he's up the island so then he says well i need you to have him fax over everything you need done cause i dont know whats going on then he hangs up on me

so i start crying and then call my surgeons office and try to explain to her what a cock my primary doctor is and how he wants me to have dr geiss fax info over and shes giving me a attitude saying "what are you talking about" and im like "are you serious ???? " so she says just go to his office and show him the papers so now i need to go to my primary doctors tomorrow which is 30 min away to show him everything im having done on a piece of paper lets hope he accepts that , man in just sick of people with attitudes how can i do this when no one is wanting to help me im soo frustrated

Take charge GF! It's your health and you need to do whatever it takes to get there. My PCP didn't support my getting the LB, told me 'Your not enough of a metabolic nightmare'...LOL, but that didn't stop me. Fax the paper over or get over there...you're going to run into lots of hurdles in this process so learn now that you're the one that matters and don't let others attitudes get in the way. You're right...It's a frustrating, hard process for a lot of us here...keep coming back here to vent anytime! I think they make this so hard to strengthen our willpower and resolve to get the band -BG

Hang in there nightgangl7! Are you going to let a silly referral get you down? Cause the insurance company will almost assuredly come up with more obstacles for you - trust me, I know, I'm right there with you.

It might be enough of a referral for the insurance company that your surgeon ordered this stuff. If this were me, I'd call the insurance company and find out about that.

And while you are on the phone with them - ask them for a list of psychologists they will pay for. That's how I found mine - the ones referred by my surgeon were all out-of-network for me. I have discovered that talking to the insurance people myself is the only way I get the "real answer".

You can do this. It will all be ok and in the end, I hope you can find that you are glad to have gone through this whole process. You will be SOO ready to be banded when it happens because YOU got YOURSELF there.
