So Discouraged

I went to my follow up appt yesterday and my doctor walked in laughing at me.. he said you poor thing you must be starving.. I'm like hell yeah i am.. he said I know you are because your band is not tight.. we used the smallest band on you and you still have alot of room right now you can eat like you normally would before you had the band. I'm looking at him like WHAT?? He said my stomach was so small that the smallest band was still to small. He said they dont fill the band up with fluid in surgery because normally it would be to tight. He said in all his years he have never came across someone who band didnt fit. He said I can go to eating mush remind you this only 1 week post op where normally you are suppose to be on liquids 2 weeks then go to mush. Then he said at 3 weeks go to regular food and get my fill at 3 weeks instead of 4. He said normally on a person 1st fill which aint until 4 weeks they will get 3-5cc's he said I will need like 5-8cc's to fill the band tight round my stomach.. So by this time tears are forming in my eyes and Im thinking in my head did I do this sh*t for nothing. He must of been reading my mind because he was like dont get discourged it was not for nothing you will just take more fluid to fill your band and I may require more fills then a normal person...now that is what you call discouraging

well at least he was honest! Dont give up, the good thing is that he has a plan! So dont give up! I refuse to believe we went through this pain for nothing!

You know what....he could be wrong. The average fill in my doc's office is 6.5cc to 7.5cc's and I am just FINE at 5.6 and when I was at 5.9 I was getting sick in my sleep and not able to get all my water in. So don't worry little one....you are going to be one hot mama!

It might be a good thing...in his new plan he's being very aggressive with both the fills and the amounts! Most don't reach their sweet spot for a long time. You'll get there!
