Frustrations

yeah I feel very frustrated today! When I sopke to the office about when I might be able to get banded, and asked if October was a reasonable guess they said yes... by all means if there are no complications and we do not forsee any. So I was really really hoping to get banded by this week. And All I can say is I'm still waiting for approval! It's been 2 weeks tht the insurance company has had all my appropriate test results, letters, paperwork of all kinds and still not answer. So, I guess, since I have some things going on in early November, and then there is Christmas, I probably will be a 2010 bander. Damn! Just when I really thought things were going my way for a change!:thumbup:

You may have already done this, but if not; call your insurance company now and have them tell you the status of your approval and make them give you a detailed answer (like we've recieved everything we need from you and it's now with the commitee). I'd also ask them for a timeframe of when you can expect to hear.

I can't tell you how many posts I've seen here where people were waiting and waiting and either their insurance company hadn't received one item, never received the fax, or they'd already approved but the docs office hadn't received it or told the person it came through!

Take charge (you'll have to do a lot of that in the rest of your journey so get started now) and don't worry about being a bug...you've got a right to ask nicely about where things stand right now...just tell them you're trying to fit it into your work schedule and you need to know...true enough, right?

It's SOOOO hard to wait for that approval after that lonnnnnng 6 month wait!

Hang in there. I pray that your approval comes quickly. I had a hell of time! I was told 2 weeks for an approval and 2 appeals and 3 months later, I am hopeful for my approval by Friday. I would suggest calling the insurance company as well. Keep on them. Don't get lost in their paperwork shuffle. Good luck.

Thanks BG and smason. I will call my insurance Co tomorrow, I am calling my Dr's office right now to see if there is anything they can tell me first! :-)

Hang in there, dont quit! A year from now the band date wont seem that important...good luck!

Life is a mystery to me. I was supposed to be banded on July 20 and I was so excited. Then on a Friday in June I get a call can you take a Band Surgery Date of June 29th... Mind you it was almost one month early. I was shocked. I was all approved and now that my date changed everyone had no idea where my paper work was???? Yup I was driving to the Hospital that morning and on the computer and talking on two phones at a time making sure it would happen that day. Hard to believe that when I finally got to the hospital after an hour drive. I was all set. Had my surgery at 4 pm and went home the next day. I am now 60 pounds lighter and if it were not for your blog I would have forgotten that wonderful hectic new birthday morning in sunny June.
