i hear ya! I had my first appt on 10/1/09 and afterwards I said "where do I sign up"! but it is a process.....I suppose patience is a virtue when you are ready to make that change for YOU! I love love taking care of everyone else...but this is for ME! keep that in mind and we will make it happen! Good luck

The first step, if you haven't done this is to call your insurance co. and get a copy of their bariatric policy. That way you'll know their requirements (and your surgeon may have a few more). The policy will spell out if you need to do a pre-op diet and other things. I had great luck in talking to the insurance person at my surgeon's office as they deal with the whole process and the insurance co's. every day. Good luck! -BG

Oh, and WELCOME to LBT!

I agree. Keep in close contact with your insurance company. Don't necessarily wait on the doctor's office. I was dealing with a nightmare clerical person at my doctors office. She never did what she was supposed to. 3 months and 2 appeals later, still waiting for my final approval...looks like it may happen finally this week. Hang in there and keep on it all.
