Does it get easier?

I had surgery on Aug 31, 09. Im having trouble getting around new eating habbits. I dont know how to make it interesting as far as menu items go. I know Im still on the mushy part of the diet but, I want to know do you ever get use to slowing down. It almost seems like too much for me to have to think about how well Im chewing and how long its taking me to eat. I feel like "oh my gosh did I make a mistake?"

Does anyone have any advice on how to get through this? I know why I did it, but I feel so left out when other people are eating what they want and when. It doesnt seem real that this will work for me but Iv seen it work for so many people. Help, help help. does anyone feel that way too??

When I did not have restriction I had a hard time slowing down. It's hard to change habits so quickly but I got a watch and made myself slow down. I also made my husband slow down. We'd take a bite, chat, put the silverware down and enjoy each other's company. He has been a huge support.

Now that I have restriction. I have no choice in the matter anyway...eat to fast...want to throw up. Giggle.

You will get there.
