Frustrated

 I got banded on 8/26. The 10 days prior to surgery on the liquid and soft food diet I lost 11 pounds. 1 week post op another 5 pounds. I have lost 36 pounds since March 2009. Here is my frustration:

My doctor said to eat 3 meals a day, 2 high protein snacks and drink my liquids and to keep portions to 1 cup. Well, when I have soup I can easily eat the entire can. Mashed potatoes, easily eat 2-4 servings. Tonite, I ate a few chicken nuggests and tater tots and they were so good, but I am starting to feel the pain. And the pain is not in the chest area, it is actually in my lower part of my stomach and at the port site.

I would have had gastric bypass, but I could not completely quit smoking. And I have noticed that I am smoking more since I am not eating. I thought my husband and friends and family were going to be my support system, but they are not. This is so difficult and even though my stomach hurts right now, I want to just eat the entire container of left over chicken nuggets and tater tots. I really need to work through this relationship with food. HELP!!!!

I FEEL YOUR PAIN...it's tough I think we are in what they call bandster hell. It's tough because truly we can eat most anything, but know we shouldn't ...It makes me want to shout....HELLO captain obvious if I had will power I would not need the band!!!!

Keep your chin up once we get enough fills it's supposed to be easier.

In my area there is a Food and Mood class at a behavioral health office. I wanted it to go on and on....

Find support somewhere! I'm not banded yet, just starting the process. I had started months ago and stopped. Honestly I was scared. But my family is totally against surgery. I found support through a High School classmate that just got banded. Ask someone on this site to be your support! Ask friends!
